Black Cherry Tree
Prunus seratina
A deciduous tree or shrub of the genus Prunus.
- A medium-sized, fast-growing forest tree growing to a height of 50–80 ft 
- Produces delicate lace-like flower blossoms in the summer. It bears a non-sweet berry looking fruit. 
- Leaves are 2–5 in (5–13 cm) long, ovate-lanceolate in shape, with finely toothed margins. Fall leaf color is yellow to red. 
- The bark of the Black Cherry separates into square shaped scales, with prominent lenticels present.
